Die IG Metall will mehr Lohn. Volkswagen will die Lohnkosten senken. Mit Autos verdient der Konzern kein Geld mehr; zumindest nicht mit VW-Modellen. 38 Millionen Euro Verlust verzeichnet das Unternehmen im reinen Automobilgeschäft in den ersten neun Monaten. Ohne die internen Subventionen durch die Erfolgsmarke Skoda käme man leicht auf einen Verlust von 200 Millionen Euro. Und für den Rest des Jahres sieht es nicht besser aus.
Solange der Konzern aber insgesamt einen Gewinn erwirtschaftet und die Aktionäre eine Dividende erhalten, so lange hätten auch die Arbeitnehmer ein Anrecht auf einen Zuschlag, argumentiert IG-Metall-Verhandlungsführer Hartmut Meine. "Im Unterschied zu Opel verdient Volkswagen Geld." Daß die Gewinne nicht von VW Golf oder Phaeton kommen, sondern vor allem aus den Finanzdienstleistungen, stört Meine nicht weiter: "Ohne Autos gäbe es auch kein Finanzgeschäft."
